I graduated with my Bachelors of Science degree from Samford University located in Birmingham, Alabama in 2006. I then received my Education Specialist and Masters of Science degrees in Mental Health Counseling from Florida State University in 2009. I am actively working toward licensure as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor. In addition, I am working toward my Registered Play Therapist credential. I have previously worked with children in clinical and school-based play therapy as an out-patient play therapy intern under Sandy Barlow, PhD, LCSW, RPT-S and Laurie McCort, LCSW. I served for eight months as a clinical intern under Patricia Craven, PhD at Healing Transitions: Creative Counseling for Children and Families, Inc. There, I worked as an in-office and home-based therapist, as well as, created and managed the Psychiatric Services Clinic until May of 2009. I have recently completed trainings in play therapy and sexual abuse, as well as trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy. Upon receiving licensure credentials, I plan to continue providing clinical therapy. I am very excited about working in private practice providing Play Therapy and Christian Counseling to children and adolescents, as well as, college students and adults. I am currently a member of the Association for Mental Health Counseling and the Association for Play Therapy.
